Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was one of the biggest releases this year, acquiring 942.1 million in the box office. Also, Oppenheimer became the third highest grossing film of 2023, the highest grossing World War Two related film, and the highest grossing biographical film.

What is most successful about the movie is its pacing, as dialogue between characters is packed with suspense and action. The movie is centered around the Manhattan Project and feels constantly tense. Oppenheimer is also packed with historical information, and revolutionary science.

Despite the praise, there is never a big release with some controversy. Many critics claimed Oppenheimer failed to adequately recognize the reality of what truly happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, it was not banned in Japan just heavily criticized, as it is a very sensitive topic.

Despite the controversy, the movie is still a widely acclaimed work of art. It is not just a movie for those interested in history or science, but appeals to many different audiences.
